WHAT ARE TOXINS? HOW CAN WE AVOID TOXIC OVERLOAD?

Reducing the toxicity in our body does wonders for our immune function and overall health. But what are toxins exactly? And how can we reduce them?


Ok, so the body is the most amazing technology on the planet and with the right environment it knows how to heal itself, the body is innate intelligence. However, accumulating toxins in the body throughout life ages and ills us. There are many ways which we can reduce the accumulation of toxins in the body.

- ORGANIC FOOD

Food that is not GMO, which is grown in soil that hasn’t been adulterated by chemicals, which hasn't been safety tested! Yes, can you believe it, the big corporations in cahoots with governments gave their ‘word’ these things were safe. So neither GMO’s or the pesticides and fertilisers used have any safety standards and are messing with a billion years of nature’s evolution.

- CLEAN WATER

Regular tap water is actually full of chemicals, heavy metals, pharmaceuticals including synthetic hormones which all have a huge impact over time on growing children and adults. A home filtration system is perfect so you avoid those endocrine disrupting plastics leeching into your water from bottles.

- AVOID PROCESSED FOOD

Anything that is packaged is usually processed which means all kinds of food additives are involved and then the food becomes toxic. Take control and read the label, or use a phone app like Yuka where you can scan any barcode and it will give you a rating on the nasties.

- AVOID CHEMICALS IN BEAUTY

This is a big one as chemicals have infiltrated everything! Best to buy organic and simple products naturally scented with Essential Oils. Don’t fall for the It says ‘natural’ on the label, because that’s just marketing and companies put that on products event if it has just 1% natural ingredients. You can use the phone app Yuka to check for nasties or buy from a single source you know is clean.

- AVOID CHEMICALS IN THE HOME

Cleaning products are known for being toxic but it wasn’t always this way. We used to clean with much fewer items. Just a small change at home can reduce the amount of products you need and save money and remove the toxins in your home. Alcohol spray for windows and glass, eco bathroom cleaner, eco liquid soap for surfaces, floors, grease and what more do you need?

- CLEAN AIR

Pollution is full of contaminants that are bad for our health so remember to go to nature and breathe the pure oxygenated un-contaminated air, in the mountain or at sea. Breathing is how we purify our blood, and toxic blood is the cause of all disease so it’s good to keep your air clean and fresh.


- TOXIC THOUGHTS

The body is always listening and thoughts create cascades of hormones which influence the body and genes. We are 95% of the time running on auto-pilot and during this time our internal dialogue can be critical, judgemental and lacking self worth. This is is so over looked but impacts our health through epigenetics, this is why meditation is so key and helpful in terms of re-programming the brain through neuroplasticity. Exposure overtime means these toxins accumulate in the body, tissues and burden our bodily systems and can be related to many diseases such as immune dysfunctions, kidney problems, infertility and cancer. Also toxic overload can result in depression and anxiety and ADHD. New studies now are showing that brain diseases such as Parkinson’s, Autism and Dementia may be related to toxins in the brain such as heavy metals. These toxins also stop the body from absorbing vital vitamins and minerals, which are linked to many illnesses and diseases.

WHERE DID THE TOXINS COME FROM?

Man made synthetic hormones and chemicals have infiltrated our world over the past 60 years, these unsafe substances are on our shelves and in our homes before even having been safety tested. Plus, around 45,000 untested chemicals have been released into the atmosphere. Our world is getting more and more toxic, which I believe is related to the decline in the health of humans.

A note about dental fillings Mercury is one of the most toxic substances on the planet yet some of us have it in our mouths. Also root canals have been shown to increase infection in the jaw and can lead to further illnesses.
